Q. Is The Lockabull Box just for "signature required" packages?
A. You can use your Lockabull Box to receive ANY package. Any delivery person can deposit a package in the box. It’s your box and you can direct anyone to leave their package there.

Q. How big is The Lockabull Box?
A. The Lockabull Box comes in two sizes. For Model 100, if you look at the front of box, it’s 18 inches wide, 16 inches tall and 14 inches deep. This allows for most small to medium-sized packages. Model 200 is 22 inches wide, 17 inches tall and 16 inches deep. The design allows for packages that are up to 20"x 16" x 14". If you belong to wine (or other delivery-of-the-month) clubs, this will accommodate most fully packaged cases (12 bottles of 750ml) of wine.

Q. Do I have to put The Lockabull Box on my porch?
A. The Lockabull Box is yours and you can put it anywhere you want. Of course you want to make it accessible to the delivery person. Once you select the location, you'll need to tell the delivery person where it's located. Other things you might consider when selecting a location include: the normal weather patterns (you don't want your CD or DVD sitting in the afternoon sun waiting for you to come home), the normal ways your family moves around the house (you don't want anyone to trip over the box), and any other considerations that might affect the operation of the box (while it's water resistant, you don't want the sprinkler system to spray the box).

Q. Can I get The Lockabull Box in a different size?
A. Yes, you can order a custom Lockabull Box. Please contact sales@plbproducts.com to specify what you’d like. The company will contact you to provide a quote for your design.

Q. Can I get The Lockabull Box in different colors?
A. Yes, you can order a custom Lockabull Box. Please contact sales@plbproducts.com to specify what you’d like. The company will contact you to provide a quote for your design. At the same time, the Lockabull Box is yours to do with what you want. Once the box arrives, you can paint it, put it in a planter, hide it in a box bench seat or anything you want. We've seen people put wallpaper on the box, coat the box with shelf paper or stick on appliques, stickers or other knick-knacks. We should run a contest for the best-dressed Lockabull Box. Once you decorate your box, send us a picture and we'll add it to our album.

Q. Is The Lockabull Box safe around my children and pets?
A. Yes, the patent pending Lockabull Box has several designed features that will prevent the accidental closing and locking of the container. The vertical posts keep the lid open until they are manually released (no accidental release possible). The box is not air-tight (holes for securing the box to your house or fixed object and drain holes). If a child were purposely locked in the box, there is a handle inside to allow him/her to open the box. After reviewing the built-in safety features of The Lockabull Box, a fireman said, "It looks like you guys thought of everything."

Q. How is The Lockabull Box secured to my home or residence?
A. You have several options available to you to secure The Lockabull Box to your home or residence. Shipped with the box is a security cable that can be used to attach the box to any fixed object on your property. You can wrap it around your porch railing, a pipe, or any other secure fixture on your property. You can use this same cable to thread through an eye bolt that has been inserted into a fixture. The Lockabull Box also has holes in the bottom if you want to mount it in the concrete on your porch, on a sidewalk or other platform. Note: Always check with local ordinances before attaching the box. Never attach The Lockabull Box to a utility structure that could cause serious personal or property damage if the box were to be ripped from its location.

Q. If it rains or snows, will my package inside The Lockabull Box stay dry?
A. Yes, there is a false bottom in The Lockabull Box. The primary purpose for this bottom is to keep the packages from interfering with the security cable. The added advantage of this bottom is that it keeps your packages off the ground and out of any moisture that might accumulate.

Q. How do I get my delivery person to use my Lockabull Box?
A. While there are general rules and regulations issued by the carrier companies, it usually comes down to the relationship you have with your local driver. The best bet is to catch the driver one day and tell him/her that you have a Lockabull Box. Tell the driver where it’s located and ask him/her to use it for all of your packages. To assure your delivery person that they can verify that they delivered the package to you, point out the "electronic signature" inside the lid. Each Lockabull Box is assigned a unique code and your delivery person can scan or copy this code and be confident that he/she is leaving your package in a secure environment.

Q. How do I get around the adult signature reguirement?
A. We don't want you to get around the requirement. We want you to abide by all laws and regulations. The Lockabull Box addresses this requirement in two ways. The first is to provide you with an authorization form that you will sign (adult signature) and give to your carrier authorizing him/her to put any package intended for your address into The Lockabull Box. The second feature of The Box is an "electronic signature" label installed on the lid. Each box has a unique serialized code on its label and the delivery person can scan or copy this code to verify that he/she did in fact deliver your package to your address. We trust that you are the responsible adult in the household and you will control access to The Box and its contents.

Q. How does The Lockabull Box stay open?
A. The Lockabull Box is designed with two vertical support posts. This will prevent accidental closings. A person will have to manually release both of these posts in order for the box to be closed and locked.

Q. How is The Lockabull Box unlocked?
A. You're the only person who has a key to unlock The Lockabull Box and you can do so at your convenience.

Q. How does the carrier unlock The Lockabull Box?
A. The Lockabull Box is unlocked when the delivery person approaches your residence. After your package has been placed inside the box, he/she will release the two vertical posts and close the box. Now it’s locked waiting for you to unlock it with your key.

Q. If The Lockabull Box is locked, how does the delivery person reopen it to make a delivery?
A. In order to protect the security of your first package, there is no way for the second delivery person to unlock the box. Only the homeowner has a key to unlock The Lockabull Box.

Q. Will I be notified of shipment of my package?
A. It’s up to your carrier to notify you of the shipment information of your package.

Q. Will I be notified that my Lockabull Box has been shipped?
A. Yes, we will send you an email (if you gave it to us) when we ship your Lockabull Box. If you didn’t give us your email, we’ll send you a postcard.

Q. How do I know if The Lockabull Box has a package inside?
A. While we don’t want to alert the "bad guys" that you have a package in your Lockabull Box; you can look at the lid and determine if you have a package. If it’s tilted, it’s still unlocked. If it’s flat, there’s probably something inside.

Q. What is The Lockabull Box made of and will it rust?
A. The Lockabull Box is made of galvanized coated steel. This material will reduce rust and give you many years of use.

Q. What’s included in the shipment of my Lockabull Box?
A. We have designed the Lockabull Box to make it easy for you to install and begin using the system as soon as possible. We will ship you the Lockabull Box, two keys for the locking handle, one security cable (for attaching the Lockabull Box to your house, porch, or solid object), installation instructions, authorization form and built-in safety features.

Q. How much does The Lockabull Box cost?
A. The price for the smaller box (Model 100) is $399.00 and the larger box (Model 200) is $449.00. Shipping and handling charges will be added to all orders and 8.25% tax will be added to orders shipped to California addresses.
